What is HCG?
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, or HCG, is a hormone naturally produced in the body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. It is the pregnancy hormone. This hormone allows the body to metabolize fat and use it as energy for both mother and fetus. This acts as a fail-safe mechanism when energy is needed immediately.

Eating protein has the effect of producing satiety for most of the day. If you ever have eaten a heavy carbohydrate meal, then you know that carbs can produce intense hunger in a few hours. Protein when combined with small amounts of healthy fats can keep you full for long periods of time. Eating eggs is the best example of protein producing fullness. Most of my patients have learned that eating 2 eggs at breakfast (13-14 grams of protein) results in fullness most of the day and making better food choices. Egg yolks also contain lutein and xenazanthin which supports eye function. Choline in eggs supports brain function, especially memory.
